PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

System integrators need a laser block with the source, scan head and controls already assembled, ready to mount on a line or a personalization station. Every separate unit that needs optical alignment adds installation and commissioning time.

Namson EcoPorta is a complete 20W MOPA laser marker module in an all-in-one design: laser source, 2D scan head and red pointer share one 8 kg housing. It is air cooled, marks a 120×120 mm area at 4000 mm/s and has the interfaces needed to fit into a machine or line.

Vietnam is among the top 3 importers of laser cutting machines worldwide (Customcy 2026). Demand for ID marking on plastic and metal blanks is growing with it.

EcoPorta is a complete all-in-one 20W MOPA laser marking module with a JPT fiber source

EcoPorta is a MOPA laser marker with a JPT Yb fiber laser at 1064 nm, in an all-in-one (AIO) design. The laser source, 2D scan head and red pointer share one housing.

Average power is 20 W, peak power 10 kW and pulse energy 1 mJ. Beam quality M2 below 1.5 and a calculated spot of 49 µm give fine, clear marks on small parts.

The unit measures 360 x 140 x 167 mm (LxWxH) and weighs 8 kg. You can mount it on an existing marking stand, conveyor or rotary fixture without a separate cabinet.

EcoPorta keeps a compact all-in-one design and raises power to 20 W. It suits production sites that need speed and efficiency without extra floor space or integration effort.

Namson positions the machine for compact laser marking solutions in industry, healthcare and identity document issuing.

A complete laser module for integration into lines and systems

EcoPorta is designed as a component: small, light and equipped with the interfaces an integrator needs. You do not have to build the laser source, scan head or pointer yourself.

  • Size and weight: 360 x 140 x 167 mm and 8 kg, mountable on a frame, conveyor or robot arm.
  • Control: USB 2.0 to the PowerMARK control card, Ethernet TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP and PROFINET (optional).
  • Line signals: Ready, Start, End I/O and START, STOP inputs so a PLC can sequence the marking.
  • Software integration: SDK (optional) to trigger marking from your own software.
  • Power: single phase 200 – 240 VAC, below 1 kVA, with a cable of about 2 m.
  • Focus: working distance 185 mm (±10 mm), and the manufacturer specification lists a 100 mm Labjack lifting stage plus an optional lifting axis for focus adjustment.

The control computer is not included, so you use an industrial PC or the PLC already on your line.

Marking ID cards, passports and electronic parts with a MOPA laser marker

MOPA technology lets you set repetition rate from 1 to 4000 kHz and pulse duration from 2 to 500 ns independently. You can tune the heat put into each material instead of adjusting power alone.

For plastic cards, typical jobs are marking photos, names and ID numbers on PC card blanks, and marking passport data pages. The machine also serves PCB and semiconductor parts, beverage, jewelry, medical devices and houseware.

PowerMARK software supports text, numbers, images, logos, 1D barcodes (Code39, Code128, EAN8, EAN13) and 2D codes (Datamatrix, PDF417, QRcode). You can mark automatic serial numbers or pull data from an external database, so every card carries its own number.

Marking plastic cards, ID cards and passports with the EcoPorta

A card and passport personalization station must mark unique data for each person on a compact housing that fits existing systems. EcoPorta is designed for this use.

What the machine marks on each card

  • Names, ID numbers, portrait photos and logos.
  • 1D barcodes (Code39, Code128, EAN8, EAN13) and 2D codes (Datamatrix, PDF417, QRcode).
  • Automatic serial numbers or data pulled from an external database.
  • Multi-level user permissions inside PowerMARK software.

How it connects to a personalization station

  • USB 2.0 to the PowerMARK control card.
  • Ethernet TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP and PROFINET (optional) for PLC lines.
  • RS-232C for Mitsubishi FX PLC (optional).
  • Ready, Start, End I/O signals and START, STOP inputs.

Options you can add to the station

You can add a rotary marking fixture, a lens-protecting cross air blower, and a manual or motorized lifting axis. The SDK lets you integrate EcoPorta into your own software.

Other applications of the EcoPorta MOPA laser marker

  • PCB and semiconductor: QR codes and serial numbers on boards and components for traceability.
  • Electronic ID marking: identification codes on electronic devices and components.
  • Wine, beer and beverages: batch codes and barcodes on metal and plastic parts.
  • Jewelry: small logos and serial numbers, thanks to a 49 µm calculated spot.
  • Medical and dental: identification codes on instruments and device parts.
  • Houseware: logos and product data on metal parts.

Why a 20W MOPA source instead of a Q-Switch fiber laser of the same size

A Q-Switch laser has an almost fixed pulse duration. MOPA lets you tune pulses from 2 to 500 ns, so one machine handles more materials, from metal to plastic.

Marking speed and positioning speed both reach 4000 mm/s, which is 4 m/s. Text marking speed is 301 characters per second, enough for a fast card personalization line.

Power stability is below 5 %. The machine is air cooled and runs at 5 to 40 °C and below 85 % non-condensing humidity, so you need no separate water chiller.

Mechanics, interfaces and upgrade options

The 2D scan head uses XY axes, with a 60 mm or 170 mm lens field option and a working distance of 185 mm (±10 mm). The manufacturer specification lists a 100 mm Labjack lifting stage to adjust focus to the workpiece height.

The machine connects through USB 2.0, Ethernet TCP/IP and basic I/O: Ready, Start, End and START, STOP inputs. RS-232C for Mitsubishi FX PLC, EtherNet/IP and PROFINET are optional.

Upgrade options include a rotary marking fixture, a lens-protecting cross air blower and a manual or motorized lifting axis. An SDK helps integrate your own software. The control computer is not included, so you use the PC already in your plant.

Laser safety notes for integration

EcoPorta is a Class IV laser safety product and acts as the laser component of your system. When fitting it into a machine or line, add shielding, interlocks and laser safety eyewear to current laser safety standards.

On delivery, our team installs the machine, connects the PLC or PC and trains operators on PowerMARK. See all models in the laser marking machine category.

FAQ about the EcoPorta 20W MOPA laser marker

Which materials can the EcoPorta 20W MOPA laser marker mark?

The 1064 nm fiber source marks metals, electronic parts and many plastics. On PC card blanks the result depends on the additives in the plastic, so sample marking comes first.

What is the marking area of the EcoPorta?

The default marking area is 120×120 mm. You can choose a 60 mm or 170 mm lens to trade finer marks for a wider area.

Does the machine need a water chiller or consumables?

The machine is air cooled, so it needs no water chiller. It uses a fiber laser source with no lamps or rods to replace on a schedule.

How does the EcoPorta connect to a PLC and plant software?

It has Ethernet TCP/IP, basic I/O Ready, Start, End and START, STOP inputs. EtherNet/IP, PROFINET and RS-232C for Mitsubishi FX PLC are optional, and the SDK integrates your own software.

What are the size, weight and power needs of this MOPA laser marker?

It weighs 8 kg, measures 360 x 140 x 167 mm and runs on single-phase 200 – 240 VAC below 1 kVA. A standard plant outlet is enough.
